Cycle path Bečva
Cycle path Bečva is a coherent intention of communities intent on constructing a multifunctional cycling corridor joining the communities on the flow of Vsetínká Bečva at first and from Valašské Meziříčí to Tlumačov.
The whole project was started in 2001, when communities associated in the voluntary association of communities called Hornovsacká dráha agreed on the collective progress. There are eight communities so-called Hornovsacko – Velké Karlovice, Nový Hrozenkov, Halenkov, Huslenky, Zděchov, Hovězí, Janová, Ústí u Vsetína and two towns – Karolinka and Vsetín.
First thanks to an initiative of Vsetín it was proposed to join the whole route as far as Valašské Meziříčí. It would give rise to a coherent project giving help to a development of the environmental forms of transportation with a significant cycle-touring project. These mentioned activities accord with the strategic plan of the microregion´s Hornovsacká dráha development. Above all thanks to cycling section´s CDV activities is operated on cycle path´s intention to Tlumačov, to the comfluence with the river Morava. At this time the extension over the town Vsetín is completed, namely flyover (about 6km). The project documentation for the next 3km of the route is prepared.
It was found out something unexpected on the finished section in Vsetín. By the designed cyclists´ adding in June 2005 it was enumerated more than 200 cyclists per one hour. It is also perceptible the maximum cyclists´ decrease going on the road I/57 which is parallel with this path. By this sample it is also shown the negative environmetal aspects´ fall ensued from the car-transport thanks to people leaving their cars. Thanks to the section´s realization there are many people in Vsetín doing something for their health.
The similar result is also perceptible in Velké Karlovice where the part of the cycle path called Bečva has been realized. An example of our intention are first some similar projects in Austria. We have visited Austria for several times and we are really sorry that we are not so far successful in procuring the devices for these activities.
This section is leading on the individual cycle path (without other traffic) and is 10km long. The next 10km are leaded on the wood stabilized throughfares (without car traffic). The next 18km are leaded on the public, local and purposeful throughfares (with a little frequency of traffic mostly in the recreation´s zones). The remaining part is so far in the tourists´ pathway form. Charges on building up the whole path Velké Karlovice – Vsetín – Tlumačov have not been so far expressed in numbers in the whole lenght.
The association Hornovsacká dráha is cooperating with CDV on the whole path´s pasportization for the GIS needs. The constituent of mapping is not only the path´s lenght, but the single surfaces, their building-technical condition, places of damaging and of course, places of crossing with other traffic corridors (highways, railroad, watercourse). We are mapping the necessary traffic sign and the places of projected measures form communities´ aspects (zones for relaxation – rest).
This form is an ideal way out the project documentation and the next proceedings for gaining our efforts.
